Manufacturing
Know what production needs.See where each job stands.
Connect materials, production progress, quality checks and costs in Frappe ERP, so your team can follow a job from planning to finished goods.
The daily problem
A production plan needs more than a start date.
Materials are in stores, updates are on the floor and costs arrive in finance later. A supervisor needs to know what is missing, which operations are complete and what each run actually used.
Capacity planning reserves workstation time; it does not optimize the schedule. Engineering changes and specialist sequencing need separate assessment. Inspection records are not a validated quality management system.
Follow materials and work through each run.
Bring work orders, stock movements, Job Cards and inspection records together. Review recorded consumption and operation time with finance before closing the job.
Check material readiness
Use BOMs and work orders to plan required materials. Agree how warehouse stock and open purchases count toward demand.
Record material movement
Track issues to production and unused material returned to stores. Planned quantities do not prove actual consumption.
Update job progress
Record completed quantities and operation time in Job Cards. Progress depends on timely updates from the floor.
Keep inspection readings
Record checks against agreed acceptance criteria. Your quality team owns release decisions; blocking rules depend on configuration.
Account for finished output
Record finished goods, process loss and scrap under the rules agreed with production and finance.
Review production cost
Bring material and operation costs into the job review. Custom variance reports and subcontracting scenarios need agreed scope.
Inside Frappe ERP
See the records behind the work.
Follow production through work orders, material entries, Job Cards and quality checks.
Check readiness before production
Bring demand, materials and planned work together. See what you can make and what you still need to buy, with warehouse stock and expected supply considered in the plan.
See where materials stand
This Stock Entry example shows a material receipt. Agree the entry types used for production issues, returns and consumption with stores and finance.
Know how each job is progressing
See completed quantities and operation time against each production job. Give supervisors and the next shift a clear view of progress, with recorded time feeding into job costs.
Keep quality checks with the work
Review inspection readings alongside production work, using agreed acceptance criteria. Give quality leads a shared record of checks and clear responsibility for releasing goods.
The people doing the work
One set of records. Different responsibilities.
Plant managers
